Severntec have done it again!

Severntec Seal Team

Shropshire’s premier dive centre has launched its new program, Severntec Seals. Aimed at 10-15 yr olds, this initiative was developed over a Zoom chat between Severntec owner Kev Murphy and instructor in training, Dan Furze.

Key points were discussed on what the diving industry needs – not only new blood but young blood. Both agreed they wished they had started their scuba journey when they were a lot younger.

We are aiming to develop a curriculum encompassing try dives, preparing youngsters for theory work, equipment drills and maintenance, and developing scuba skills, ready for when they enter their RAID Junior Open Water diver courses.

Coming out of lockdown Severntec will be looking at doing kids-only sessions in one of our pools in Wem, Shropshire. It’s still early days for Severntec but we already boast a healthy membership of close to 60 divers and currently we do just over 100 certifications per year.

Check out the Severntec Seals page to see our current junior members and read their stories, and feel free to book a free online consultation with one of our team to get more details on how you can be part of our new initiative.

We aim to make this program affordable for all – for more information please send an email or use our contact page.
